The Road to Omaha: Day 6

OMAHA, Neb. — History was made Tuesday at TD Ameritrade Park and the College World Series. In the afternoon, the Ole Miss Rebels defeated Texas Tech 2-1, winning their first game in the CWS since 1969 and their first in the new ballpark.

Later that night, Virginia and TCU played 15 innings, tying the record for the longest game in the history of the CWS. Virginia, who defeated Ole Miss Sunday night 2-1, defeated the Horned Frogs 3-2 in a game that literally ended Wednesday morning.

TCU is Ole Miss’ next opponent, Thursday night in the CWS. The winner advances, the loser is done and will face the Cavaliers, who have to be beat twice now.
