Northeast Mississippi Community College’s softball program will look to continue its effort of giving back to the community when the Lady Tigers host their annual Mid-South Make-A-Wish ASA Qualifier Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament on May 25-26 at Booneville City Park.As with past events, all proceeds from the tournament will go to the Mid-South Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.During its first two Make-A-Wish fund-raising tournaments, the Northeast softball team was able to grant two wishes for children in the Prentiss County area.In order to help the cause, organizers have opened the tournament up to six different age groups during the tournament.
A double-elimination tournament will be held for 8-under coach pitch teams and the entry fee is $100 while 10-under, 12-under, 14-under, 16-under and 18-under/high school teams are invited to join the tournament as well.Entry fee for the 10-U, 12-U, 14-U, 16-U and 18-U/high school teams is $150 and each team is guaranteed four games with a maximum of eight games per age groups.Deadline to enter is Sunday, May 20 with schedules and brackets posted on Wednesday, May 23 before the weekend tournament.
