Civic Ballet's Repertoire and 2nd Act of Paquita. The story of Paquita takes place in Spain during its occupation by Napoleon's army. Paquita is a gypsy who falls in love with an officer in the French army. Being of different classes they cannot marry, until Paquita learns that she was kidnapped by gysies and is noble by birth. Jan Dijkwel is artistic director. Guest artists are Mikhail Ilyin from American Ballet Theatre and Risa Nakagawa from Tottori City Ballet, Japan.
