We heart @SBcoffeehouse. The Twitter feed makes us laugh and crave coffee at the same time.
We interviewed Shane Reed, the brain behind the feed and the owner of the business, to get his advice for other small businesses that want to have a better Twitter account.
“You have to love it or you’re not going to enjoy it,” he said. “You can’t force it. Just have fun with it. Get your culture out there.”
His tips:
- Be consistent. You have to tweet every day.
- Post text, photos, videos and graphics.
- Be completely honest. Admit if you’ve had a problem.
- Be a part of the community.
- Respond to everyone who tweets you.
- Give away stuff.
- Tweet about at least seven other things before you tweet about your business.
- Explore new social media networks.
- Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
- Set ground rules for what you don’t want to do (i.e.. no vulgarity).
