BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — Eight jurors have been chosen in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial on the first day of the selection process.

Centre County Court administrator Maxine Ishler said the last two jurors were picked just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

That leaves just eight more seats open, which will be tackled when jury selection resumes again on Wednesday. The panel is to include 12 jurors and four alternates.

Jury selection began earlier Tuesday with some 220 people reporting.

Jurors are being chosen from people who live in the State College area, where Penn State's main campus is located. Sandusky faces 52 criminal counts for alleged abuse of 10 boys, charges he denies.
