BOONEVILLE – The second game of a baseball doubleheader between Northeast Mississippi Community College and East Mississippi was called off in the fourth inning Wednesday after an altercation between rival players.

East was leading 4-2 with two outs in the top of the fourth inning when the game ended.

The official Northeast public information Twitter account said the game was called “after the brawl.”

Northeast (10-18) lost 11-2 in the first game.

Contacted Wednesday night, Northeast head coach Kent Farris said. “I don't have any comment” when asked about the incident.
