Tunica Volunteer Fire Chief Scott Goff says the fire started in the living room of one of the apartments Tuesday. He says the fire started behind a couch. He says the investigation is ongoing.
No injuries were reported in the 6:30 a.m. blaze at the Nixon Apartments.
Tunica County spokesman Larry Liddell says 15 to 20 people lost their homes in the fire.
The American Red Cross is helping the displaced residents with food, clothing and shelter.
