Ole Miss: The Rebels (9-1) beat host Tulane 5-1 to clinch the weekend series in New Orleans. The teams wrap up today at 1 p.m.
Alex Yarbrough went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles to lead Ole Miss.
Rebels’ starter Aaron Barrett (3-0) worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed one run on six hits with four walks and seven strikeouts. David Goforth picked up his third save of the season as he entered the game with the tying run on deck in the ninth.
Mississippi State: The Bulldogs ended their losing streak and started a winning streak. MSU (7-3) beat Michigan State 7-4 and Southeast Missouri 3-2 in the BankFirst Baseball Challenge at Dudy Noble Field.
In the secomnd game freshman Chris Stratton (Tupelo) allowed two runs and struck out nine in seven-plus innings.
MSU and Michigan State play again today at 2:30 p.m.
