Tupelo Christmas parade set for Saturday morning

St. Nick himself will take a break from the North Pole to make an appearance at the 2012 Reed’s Tupelo Christmas parade.

The parade kicks off downtown at 10 a.m. Saturday. It’s free.

The Healthy Tupelo Taskforce will serve as the grand marshals, as the parade’s theme is “Have a Healthy Christmas.”

Pop-punk bands Major League, City Lights, Turnover, Maker, Lions Lions, Carousel Kings and Of the Coast will rock at Goodtime Charlie’s tonight.

The Baldwyn Main Street Players will present their spin on the holiday classic “White Christmas” with “Dreaming of a White Christmas” this weekend.

The family-friendly musical takes the stage at Baldwyn High School’s auditorium tonight, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
