BOONEVILLE – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday continued its investigation into a Booneville shooting in which a city resident was shot by a police officer.

Trooper Casey May of the Mississippi Highway Patrol formally identified the victim as David A. Curtiss, 45, of Stanley Street. He was previously identified by a family member.

Investigators continue to interview witnesses and collect evidence, Mayo said, but no additional information is available.

Police responded to a Prentiss County 911 call about a domestic disturbance about 9:38 p.m. Monday at 201 Stanley Street Extended. Curtiss was shot one time and transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville, where he was pronounced dead.
