Yours truly is back from Jackson and sitting inside Humphrey Coliseum, pondering where to do lunch. After eating, things pick up a bit. The new football uniforms will be unveiled at 1 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore – right out in front, actually. I'll see if I can utilize the TwitPic application for those of you unable to be here.
Then after that, there will be a media gathering with the basketball team. A postseason wrap-up press conference of sorts. Will Jarvis Varnado have word on his future? We'll see.
I'll be writing stories off both events for tomorrow's Journal, so keep an eye out. Back to the uniform thing, it essentially kicks off Super Bulldog Weekend, because the football team returns to the practice field Thursday to start fine-tuning things for Saturday's Maroon-White spring game. They practice again Friday, and the baseball team opens its series with Kentucky.
Speaking of baseball, here is the story on MSU's 8-1 loss to Ole Miss last night in Pearl. And there's this: my boy Brandon Speck of the Monroe Journal caught up with former Bulldog pitcher Paul Maholm, now of the Pittsburgh Pirates, for this story.
