ROLLING FORK — The annual festival to celebrate Theodore Roosevelt's great black bear hunt in the Mississippi Delta more than 100 years ago is Saturday in Rolling Fork.

Festival's coordinator Meg Cooper tells the Vicksburg Post that the theme of this year's event is "Just Another Day in Bearadise." The event began in 2002.

Cooper says the festival, held at the Courthouse Square, will feature live entertainment and other activities.

The event that pays homage to President Theodore Roosevelt's famous bear hunt that resulted in what is now the "teddy bear." The festival also aims to increase awareness of bear preservation
