Belden, Birmingham Ridge and Palmetto fire departments were on the scene of an apartment fire at Chesterville Gardens Saturday night.

The apartment complex is at 573 Chesterville Road in Lee County. Unit 11 called in the sight of smoke in a nearby unit to 911 around 8:30 p.m. The unit on fire was D building No. 9.

Nobody was reported injured in the fire and it was out by 9 p.m.

A reporter on scene said when apartment complex residents smelled the fire, they called it in and several ran inside their homes to get fire extinguishers to help if needed.

Fire units on the scene said there was a fire on the stove.
