ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) — A former West Point municipal judge is facing a charge of breaking and entering in Monroe County.

The Commercial Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/PvEahZ) 47-year-old David Lambert also served as a former prosecuting attorney for the city of West Point.

Authorities say Lambert was arrested last week by sheriff's deputies after kicking in the door of a home. Deputies say Lambert is also accused of allegedly breaking into the residence to assault a female inside the home.

He was released from custody on Friday on a $5,000 bond.

It was unclear whether Lambert has an attorney.
