Gap is set to open a factory store in the former Circuit City location in Tupelo.

The store is slated to open next year, according to plans Gap Inc. submitted to Tupelo’s development services department.

The shopping center is anchored by Old Navy and shares ownership with The Mall at Barnes Crossing. A temporary Halloween store called Spirit currently occupies the building.

Phil Purdom, senior vice president and mall leasing for David Hocker & Associates, the mall’s co-owner, declined to comment. No lease has been signed, he said.

Gap outlets sell Gap-branded clothing at a discounted price. The closest outlet to Tupelo is in Tunica.
