According to Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle, Brittany Mitchell, 25, of Hamilton was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and embezzlement March 2 by the Aberdeen Police Department following a month-long investigation by Pioneer Community Hospital.

Mitchell was a nurse who worked minimal shifts as needed at PCH. She was employed with the hospital since August 2012.

“The hospital had suspected someone was stealing supplies so they started watching things closer. They went through the proper procedures and did a thorough investigation. Once they had their evidence, they contacted us. The hospital did an excellent job in their investigation,” Randle said.

Mitchell is out on bond.
