- There’s still time to get in the running at Regional Rehabilitation Center’s annual Kentucky Derby Day Party on Saturday.
The annual event will begin at 3 p.m. at the Robins Street homes of Tom Evans, and Michele and Allen Worthey. Tickets are $40 a person and include heavy hors d’ouvres, a mint julep and $500 in Derby Dollars for play wagers on the race. Wristbands for unlimited drinks are $40.

Get in the spirit at annual lunch
- The nominations are in for Young Person, Role Model; Community Hero and Health Care Hero.
Find out who will take home the Spirit of Women awards at the annual awards lunch on May 17 at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall.
The regional winners will advance as nominees for national recognition.
Mrs. Mississippi Keri McMillen will be the featured speaker.

NEMS Birthing Project hosts Strut and Stroll
- The Northeast Mississippi Birthing Project will host the annual Sister Strut and Stroll on May 7 at Fairpark in Tupelo.
The free event will be from 8 a.m. to noon and will include games, kids fun run, face painting, belly painting, stroller decoration contest.
The Birthing Project is part of a national organization that connects mothers-to-be with mentors and life coaching programs.

Memorial service honors hospice patients May 22
- North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice will hold its semi-annual memorial service from 2 to 3 p.m. May 22 at St. Luke Unived Methodist Church.
The service is a time for families who have lost a loved one on NMMC Hospice during the past six months to honor that person and reunite with the staff and volunteers.
For the first time, NMMC Hospice will hold a butterfly release as part of the memorial service.
Each family will be provided a butterfly to release during the ceremony.
