His team fell to 1-5 in ugly fashion on Saturday night, but Mississippi Hound Dogs owner Marty Cooper said he is not looking to make another coaching change.

“Oh, absolutely,” Cooper said, when asked if Eric Bingham was likely to remain as head coach of the first-year indoor pro football team through the end of the season.

“The problem we're having now is not a coaching problem,” Cooper added, after a 60-12 homefield loss to Lakeland.

Bingham was elevated from assistant when Martino Theus was fired after the new team's 0-3 start.

“It's our first year and we're still trying to put the right pieces together,” Cooper said. “We're just trying to find the right mix of players to succeed.”

The Hound Dogs are off this week, then return to action at BancorpSouth Arena on April 21 against Eastern Kentucky.
