Joyce Ripley, right, looks over a photograph taken of Elvis Presley sitting in the same booth as she and fellow Elvis fan Pat Koogle eat at Johnnie’s Drive-In in Tupelo on Monday.

The local eatery, once Presley’s favorite Tupelo restaurant and now an Elvis tourist hot spot, celebrated its 66th anniversary on Monday with 66-cent burgers.

Sue Mack and Mike Freeman, from left in the background, own a small Memphis tour group and say fans enjoy connecting with Elvis by visiting places he did.

“There are so many places that are gone, and this is still here and that’s special.” Mack said.
