TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — State preservationists have set aside money for one project in Webster County and named two other north Mississippi locations as landmarks.

The Mississippi Department of Archives and History has awarded a $130,000 grant to the town of Mantee to relocate the historic depot to its original site.

Local officials will renovate the building for a welcome center and community center.

MDAH named Sturgis Presbyterian Church and the Grenada Army Air Field Hangar as Mississippi Landmarks.

The communities of Needmore in Oktibbeha County and Union Church in Lee County were approved for historic markers.
