BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — A Biloxi man convicted of possession of child pornography has been sentenced to serve five years in prison.

In June, 25-year-old Sean Edward Dietz entered an open plea to one count of possession of child porn. An open plea means he refused to accept the state's recommended sentence and instead threw himself upon the mercy of the court.

On Monday, Harrison County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Dodson sentenced Dietz to 20 years in prison, with 15 years suspended and five years to serve.

Once released, Dietz must register as a sex offender and be supervised release for another five years.
