Storms drifted through Northeast Mississippi on Wednesday afternoon, leaving minimal damage in the region.

According to Danny Gant with the National Weather Service in Memphis, some damage was reported because of wind. He said wind gusts of 60 mph were reported in Hatley. Some trees were downed in Monroe County, particularly in Greenwood Springs and Smithville.

For today, there is a slight chance of severe weather in the evening when a warm front rolls into the region from the south. A severe weather risk continues into Friday when a cold front pushes through.
