STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — New Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Ray has completed his coaching staff with the hiring of Chris Hollender and Adam Gordon.

Hollender will be an assistant basketball coach while Gordon will be the director of basketball operations. Hollender comes to the Bulldogs after stints as an assistant coach at Evansville and Army. Gordon was previously at Northern Colorado.

Ray has completed his coaching staff less than two weeks after he was hired on April 1. Ray has also hired Wes Flanigan and George Brooks, who is the only holdover from the previous staff.

They have a tough task ahead, with only five scholarship players on the current roster. Key contributors Rodney Hood, Renardo Sidney, Arnett Moultire and DeVille Smith have all recently left the program with eligibility remaining.
