PEARL — Mississippi is sending disaster management teams to New Jersey to help in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

Gov. Phil Bryant says a 21-member emergency operations center team will be dispatched to Monmouth County, N.J. That group includes seven Mississippi Emergency Management Agency employees, one Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service employee and 13 employees from county and city governments.

A five-member incident management team from Mississippi's state Department of Health will aid Middlesex County, N.J.

Some state employees were sent to aid Maryland during the storm.

Mississippi is part of a compact that allows states to help each other out during emergencies. The requesting state pays expenses.

Bryant says Mississippi will send more help if other states ask for it.
