JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The first annual Southern Crossroads Music and Tamale Festival is adding to its list of performers.

Organizers plan a Monday news conference to discuss the event that will feature a combination of genres, including classic R&B, blues, country, jazz and zydeco.

The two-day event, which also will showcase a variety of tamales created by the area's noted chefs, will premiere at the Mississippi State Fair Grounds in Jackson on Aug. 10-11.

Daily general admission is $18 a day. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster and the Mississippi Coliseum Box Office, beginning May 21.

The Festival is the brainchild of Southern Crossroads syndicated radio show host Pat LeBlanc.

LeBlanc says it's a chance to experience the best the South has to offer in cuisine and music.
