According to Calhoun County Coroner Jerry Fleming, Earlie B. Balford died from multiple stab wounds with a screwdriver around 7:30 p.m.
Andy Brown, 29, is accused of the killing and was arrested Wednesday night. Brown and Balford were next-door neighbors on Highway 9 South.
Fleming said Balford’s body is being sent to Jackson for an autopsy and the case is still under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
