The good thing to come out of that: lots of brainstorming.
Ideas pitched included:
- Various artists for upcoming Monthly Music Mixes (especially a battle of the bands or band showcase, to bring in younger audiences)
- A vocal showcase (lots of questions about who to get for this, should there be auditions, etc)
- Culture night
- Lecture series
Brevard, Deas and Murphey agreed that to make these plans happen, they'll need more folks to make them a reality.
Upcoming events include:
Indie Film Series on Feb. 7, featuring the film "NY Export Opus Jazz"
Performance by American Boychoir on March 8
Monthly Music Mix featuring Robert Johnston on March 3
Next Performing Arts Commission meeting will be on Feb. 29.
