TUPELO – Fire investigators said the Tuesday fire that destroyed Mt. Vernon Foam was not started under suspicious circumstances.

Lee County Arson Investigator Brian Kilgore and state fire investigators were on the scene of the fire Wednesday morning trying to find what caused the blaze that destroyed the 40-year-old factory that made cut foam for furniture.

Kilgore said the fire possibly started near the front, northern part of the building but because if the severe damage to the building the investigation was taking longer to pinpoint it exactly.
