CLARKSDALE — Actor Morgan Freeman and his business partner are auctioning the contents of their upscale restaurant in the heart of the Mississippi Delta.

The Madidi Restaurant in Clarksdale closed in February.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, auctioneer Nick Clark will open bidding on a laundry list of restaurant items, from the glasses to the tables to leather couches to the stainless steel sink. Artwork is not included.

Bill Luckett, Freeman's partner, told The Associated Press in February that the 10-year-old restaurant "never made money," and neither he nor Freeman had the time to run and manage it.

The restaurant offered what Luckett called "Americanized French" cuisine, a good wine list and fancy tablecloths and silverware.

More than 100 people have registered so far for the auction.
