Getting cranked up here for the noon start. Nice to see the stands virtually empty at the start on Resurrection Sunday. Folks will trickle in, I presume. The home field advantage hasn't lifted the Rebels in either of the first two games.
That being said ...
With Scott Bittle pitching the Rebels set the Gamecocks down in order in the first inning. First time that's happened. Bittle opened the game with a strikeout of Whit Merrifield, again a first for the weekend.
Now, from the "things stay the same department," Rebels got a walk and a one-out single back to back off Cooper, the Gamecocks starter. But Smith struck out, and Phillips grounded out, and the Rebels stranded runners at first and third.
As I type, Bittle just set down the next three in order, two with strikeouts.
Rebels coming to bat in the bottom of the second, and I'll pick that up in the comments section.
