The semifinalists were named by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation based upon their scores on the PSAT. Ashby was among
22 Mississippi students to be recognized and was the only Northeast Mississippi honoree.
These students have the opportunity to compete for about 800 Achievement Scholarship awards worth more than $2.5 million that
will be offered next spring.
About 80 percent of Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win an Achievement Scholarship award.
