Former Mississippi State running back Vick Ballard signed a four-year, $2.24 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday. Ballard confirmed a report of his deal, which includes a signing bonus of $144,560.
The Pascagoula native was drafted by the Colts in
the fifth round this year after a two-year career at MSU. He set the school’s single-season touchdown record as a junior and rushed for 1,189 yards as a senior. He should have a good
opportunity for immediate playing time in a thin Indianapolis
backfield.
