Tupelo Police responded to a shooting incident at Wayside Street Thursday afternoon around 12:30 p.m.

Namon Goldman, 23, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. No bond has been set.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries to the face. There were at least five children in the home at the time of the shooting, according to authorities.

Lawhon Elementary was placed on lock-down from approximately 12:37 p.m. until 12:50 p.m. as a precaution while the shooting investigation was taking place.

No motive has been released in the shooting.
