HERNANDO, — Three adults and a juvenile have been charged in a baseball bat attack that left two teenagers hospitalized.

DeSoto County Sheriff Bill Rasco says the fight took place Sunday in a wooded area and stemmed from text messages that started months ago.

He says one victim received a message to "stop running his mouth." Investigators are trying to determine what that meant.

Charged with aggravated assault are David Lee Jones of Nesbit, Gregory Alan Jordan of Hernando and Jones' 15-year-old brother, whose name was withheld. Jones' father, 47-year-old David Harrold Jones of Nesbit, was charged with accessory after the fact.

One of the teens, Vincent Eggers, a senior at Lewisburg High School, is in critical condition in a Memphis hospital. Another is hospitalized in Southaven.
