Authorities work Thursday morning to determine what happened in Tupelo where a body was found. (Danza Johnson)
James Kelly Jr. of Tupelo was identified as the body found at the scene by Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine-Green.
Lee County E-911 received a call of a person lying beside the train tracks at 6:04 a.m.
At this time, it appears the victim may have been struck by the train, according to a press release from the Tupelo Police Department.
