Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar said the shooting happened north of Jumpertown.
Upon arrival Prentiss County Deputies found the body of Arthur Dewayne White, 48, of 282 CR 8401. Arthur White was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
All indications at this point, indicate that the shooting victim came into his brother's residence and forced his way into his home, Tolar said.
An altercation occurred within the residence. Arthur White was alleged to have been armed with an axe handle.
"We have consulted with the District Attorney's Office and the case will presented to a Grand Jury in the near future," Tolar said.
