Varnado earns honor from NBA’s D League

Jarvis Varnado of the Sioux Falls Skyforce was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for Nov. 23-Dec. 2.

A 6-9, 210-pound forward out of Mississippi State, who had been in training camp with the Miami

Heat, Varnado led Sioux Falls to a 3-0 record for the week, averaging 15.7 points to go along with 9.3 rebounds and a league-high 5.7 blocks.

Varnado has 17 blocks through the first three games of the season. In the season-opener against Iowa, he had 11 points and 14 rebounds. On Nov. 30, in a 118-111 win at Springfield, he scored 21 points along with eight blocks.
