Happy Tuesday, everyone. Hope you enjoyed the long weekend. And now on to this week's restaurant inspections ...

The state Department of Health regularly inspects restaurants and food facilities.

The facilities are graded from A to C. "A" is the best. "C" is the equivalent of failing, but the inspection isn't bad enough to merit the closure of the restaurant.  Any restaurant with a C gets a follow-up visit within 10 days.

---

The following Lee County facilities were inspected between 5/21 and today.

-- A's --

Danver's

KFC (South Gloster)

Samaritan Garden (nursing home on South Gloster)

Sprint Mart (West Main)

The Olive Garden

Home Run Cafe (Belden)

Subway (Verona)

-- B's --

None

-- C's --

None

---

The records show that Chili's was inspected May 22, but the grade and the report are not on file with the MS Dept. of Health. Chili's has made A's since September 2010. (see the reports)

We have a call in to the inspector to see what the deal is.

FYI - the health department has the following disclaimer on the data:

Data in this system come from two very different systems. Some inspections in the old system may be missing prior to July 2002. If in doubt about any facility, call the responsible health department.

Data are for informational purposes, not enforcement.

The health department also has the option of revising the reports.
