Larry R. Wilbanks pleaded guilty to the charges in Alcorn County Circuit Court.
Authorities say the charges against Wilbanks were enhanced because of the age of the victim, who was 65 when Wilbanks broke into her home.
Wilbanks waived his right to a jury hearing to determine his sentence and a judge handed down the prison terms.
He later claimed he didn't voluntarily enter the plea, his confession to authorities was coerced and his lawyer should have done a better job.
