Jax State’s Green benched by OVC

The Ohio Valley Conference has suspended Jacksonville (Ala.) State men’s basketball coach James Green one game as punishment for being ejected from his team’s loss to Tennessee Tech.

The league suspended Green on Sunday after reviewing the plays that led to the coach’s ejection Saturday night in a 78-64 loss.

Green, who made contact with an official before being ejected, is an Ingomar native who coached at Southern Miss.

He’ll sit out Thursday’s game at Morehead State.
