Happy Monday the 13th, people. On today's Bulldog Beat (BulldogSportsRadio.com), Tabora Cook and I discuss whether Monday the 13th is worse than Friday the 13th, or if perhaps in some myseterious way it is actually the opposite of Friday the 13th. Deep questions we do ponder on the radio.
Anyway, I have a couple of links for you to ponder. First, an update on that odd situation involving prodigal freshman defensive back Xavier Grindle, who left MSU on Friday, was supposedly going to sign with Pearl River CC, then returned and is practicing with the Bulldogs (CLICK HERE).
Also in today's Journal is a story about MSU's football assistants getting salary increases (CLICK HERE). State is now paying those guys $2 million-plus, and I have a chart below of what the assistants have made each year since Dan Mullen arrived in 2009. You can probably figure out that columns with $0.00 indicate those coaches were not or are no longer on staff.
MSU had full staff retention this offseason, which is a big deal.
"It was a huge deal, because guys had options to go places," he said Sunday night. "They decided to stick it out and stay, and I do think we have a great relationship, and Scott (Stricklin) does a great job of making sure that this is a great place to coach, a great place to work. And salary's part of that."
