Day 1 of Mississippi State's camp is in the books, so allow me to quickly recap it for you.

• Here's my notebook, which covers a good bit of ground, including some roster notes.

• I've got video of Dan Mullen for you from our post-practice chat. He seemed to be in good spirits.

• As you've likely heard, MSU begins the season ranked 20th in the USA Today coaches' preseason poll. Tommy Hicks of the Press-Register examines it.

As I type this, MSU is already back on the field for more. Not the entire team, mind you, as Mullen is splitting the squad up today. The next session is at 7 tonight, and I plan on being there for that.
