Mississippi State senior third baseman Jarrod Parks is one of three finalists for the Ferriss Trophy, which is given annually to the state's top baseball player.

The other two finalists are both from Southern Miss: Outfielder Tyler Koelling and infielder B.A. Vollmuth.

Parks currently leads the SEC in hitting with a .396 average. He's also tops in on-base percentage (.538), is second in hit-by-pitch (17) and fifth in walks (36). Parks' average has recently been as high as .419, after a win over Tennessee on May 6. He has 33 RBIs and 43 runs scored.

The finalists were selected by a panel of 25 voters that included college coaches, Major League scouts and one media member. The winner will be announced Monday, May 23 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson. An 11:30 a.m. luncheon will precede the noon ceremony.
