VIDEO: Freeze after practice

Rain and lightning moved the Rebels inside for their first workout since Saturday's scrimmage.

There were noticeable depth chart moves. Bo Wallace appears to be getting more first-team snaps at QB, but I didn't count them.

It was an OK day for the offense today. Barry Brunetti had a nifty touchdown pass to Donte Monrief on an end zone corner route, but Brunetti also had at least one ball patted at the line again.

Wallace did some good things too.

The bigger personnel item was in the absence of starting cornerback Wesley Pendleton who missed the workout for what Hugh Freeze described as an MCL, which would be a minor knee injury. It will be wait-and-see on Pendleton. Cliff Coleman, a sophomore, got a lot of reps in Pendleton's absence.

Backup offensive lineman Darone Bailey did dress for practice today. He's day to day, but Freeze says he hasn't given up on playing the junior college transfer this season. On Media Day Freeze liked the idea of redshirting Bailey and having him for two more years if Bailey did not prorgess enough to help out. Freeze said today that Bailey will play if he's in the top seven or eight of the offensive linemen.

There was mroe playing time for RB Jeff Scott than there's been in a while, and DL Uriah Grant was at practice dressed out and doing drills on the side and appears to be making progress in his rehab.

Freshman Issac Gross continues to run with the first team defensive line. He will be a tough decision for the staff, I'm sure, whether to play or redshirt.

The defense worked on several different alignments today.

The Rebels will work out again today at 5:15.

No news is good news for The Turtleman, as he waits for a phone call from "The Beaver" aka Freeze.

Brunetti has Tyson Lee disease. Better get him rolling out or have the o-line drop and roll block,(lol). This offense may set records for throwing picks, and / or batted balls. Of course, when a QB rolls out, the field is cut in half and defenses just flock to the ball like sharks after chum.
