A few practice notes here. ...

Being on crutches I didn't fight for video position, so this will strictly be black and white.

Good news on the injury front as both WR Collins Moore and DL Uriah Grant were back at practice. No heavy lifting for either, but that will change.

Moore was already starting at slot receiver when he sustained a torn labrum the second day of camp. It's an injury he's played through before and seems ready to play through again. He will wear a brace on his shoulder.

DL coach Chris Kiffin was pleased with Grant's conditioning. He's coming off off-season shoulder surgery. Kiffin says he fully expects Grant to be in a four-player rotation among the two defensive tackles.

Another spot could go to freshman Issac Gross, who continues to get plenty of reps. Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says Gross "will play a lot."

Also on the injury front, Freeze said defensive backs, Wesley Pendleton, Charles Sawyer and Cliff Coleman could all return in some capacity next week.

Sawyer has been out since sustaining a torn quad the same day Moore was injured.

Pendleton, already out with a knee, was sent away from the football building today when he showed up with the flu. Coleman also has a minor knee injury.

This was the first practice since open to media since last Saturday's scrimmage. Freeze said Bo Wallace graded out higher than Barry Brunetti among the quarterbacks. He had good things to say about OL Justin Bell and said juco transfer Louis Covington graded out highest among the DBs.
