One of the benefits of working at the Journal is three weeks of vacation. This is my third. I'm out this week, but Hayden Sowers will be checking in with plenty of football. See you next week.

I have been a Johnny Reb all my life . I have had some disappointing seasons with them, but still believed and hoped. I am not going to jump ship on Ole Col Reb now. My loyalty lie with the the Great State of Mississippi and the Ole Miss Rebels and this is where I will make my stand. My memory go back to about 1969, I was stationed with the Air Force in Thailand, the Armed Forces televised the Ole Miss-Alabama game, Archie Manning VS Scott Hunter, Hunter and the tide won the game but they did not beat Archie Manning. The Sugar Bowl followed and Archie led the Rebels to victory over the Razorbacks of Arkansas. Ole Miss Rebels winners in tradition. I believe they can recapture that glorious winning tradition one day, it could be in the making now, Don't really know but hope so.

As for me I will give Coach Freeze and his Rebels a fair and bona fide chance to change rebel football tradition to winners rather than traditional losers. one year probational period with mercy, no more. I believe he can.

Oxford has changed tremendously since I lived in that area as a young lad. There were no bars or alcohol in Lafayette Co. Or legal should I say.

Ole miss deserve what they get because they asked for it. Losers!!! Thought maybe the had changed with a new staff but not so, same as usual. Losers!!!

Wow! The Rebelbears are winning the battle for most names on the police botter. Coach Freeze may have lost control over his players, already. Of course Kennedy's players are just following the lead established by their coach, remember the cab incident. Maybe the administration should get a handle on this, before something worse happens. What is Brassell even doing in Oxford anyway?

OXFORD — Ole Miss tight end Jamal Mosley was suspended indefinitely Monday, two days after being arrested for at least the third time during his college football career.

Mosley was charged with public drunkenness and disturbing the peace, according to the Lafayette County Detention Center's log.

Mosley and former Rebel Nickolas Brassell were arrested outside of Corner Bar in Oxford at 11:17 p.m. Saturday, Oxford police chief Mike Martin said.

Also, Ole Miss basketball freshman Terry Brutus was arrested Friday and charged with DUI.

The arrest was made by the university police at 2:40 a.m., according to the Lafayette County Detention Center log. Brutus was released on cash bond shortly after 7 a.m.

Junior forward Jason Carter was arrested on July 14 and charged with possession of marijuana, according to the log.

An Ole Miss spokesman said coach Andy Kennedy is aware of both arrests and is gathering details. Any punishment will be handled internally, he said.

If the NCAA really wanted to kill the Penn State football program, they would have made them play this season with the current Rebelbear's roster.
