There were conflicting opinions from David Lee and Barry Brunetti on the value of Brunetti's few game appearances last year as a freshman at West Virginia.

Said Lee: “He had a rough week last week. He didn't look like he had snaps at any college last week, but he looked better today.”

Brunetti appeared in four games last year. He was 4-for-9 passing for 6 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Brunetti feels like this time at West Virginia will help a little, but he didn't make a big deal out of it.

He said this: “I'd be nervous any game. If we were playing a high school team I'd be nervous, because I'm a human being, and that's human being nature, but once I get that first hit and that first snap, it will all go away. Playing at West Virginia kind of helped out a little bit, even though I played a lot at the end of games. I played a few games in the middle, but it will help with blocking the crowd out.”

Brunetti said the biggest reason for his surge in productivity at Tuesday's practice is his comfort level in several difference aspects: with getting used to being the starter, with timing in the offense and with his knowledge of BYU from breaking down video.

“Everybody's getting comfortable, Brassell and Donte, they're starting to know everything they're supposed to do, they're lining up right. Once we all get comfortable, with the speed we got, we can be deadly.”
