Assistant coach Maurice Harris talks about his position group here, the tight ends.

It remains to be seen how much the tight ends will be used in the offense. Hugh Freeze has called his top two, seniors Ferbia Allen and Jamal Mosley inconsistent.

Allen knows the system but isn't as athletic as Mosley. Mosley, however, has left some plays on the table during camp, and his playing status remains unclear as a result of his late July arrest. Freeze announced him as suspended indefinitely, but he has been a part of camp from Day 1.

The Rebels will be back on the field in about an hour. Hayden Sowers is covering today and tomorrow. We'll have notes on the blog following the second of today's two practices.

rebgent, I bet Bucky Beaver would chew through a pine knot to have any of MSTATE's QB's on his roster.

Don't think Russell will have to worry about any blackbear DB's picking him off. Fragile? He wouldn't miss any time for a BLISTER, that's for sure!

cooties, haters, kitties, deacons... what a nice assortment of misfits we have visiting today...

Cooter,

You are right that Russell threw no picks against Ole Miss - he also threw no passes.

Rebelrt,

You are right. Russell can be counted on for at least one pick a game. THAT will def be one of the msu records that he breaks... so far in his career he has 11 TD's, 10 Int's. That ratio will continue this year. And I hope the backup qb is good, Russell seems to be kinda fragile too...

Ole rebelfart, you are mistaken about Relf! The blister was on his knee, from 3 straight years of taking a knee in the EGG BOWL.

I don't remember Russell, if that's who you are referring to throwing any picks in the EGG Bowl, all I can remember is the score....31 to 3...and will carve the blackbear's up like a Thanksgiving turkey in this year's EGG bowl.

Seems like I remember old Relf sitting out a quarter of one game due to a blister on his throwing hand. Also, if memory serves me right, old Rus turned Stankville into INT City when he came in the game.

You pup fans wouldn't know that though because you don't actually watch the games. "Hold my beer, while I ring da bell!"

I heard the blackbears will change their name to Sissy and The Blisters, with a Band-aid as the mascot.

The Turtleman had a busted lip and scratches all over his chest, yet he found the courage to catch two raccoons trapped inside a press box at a local speedway! I am telling you, the blackbears could use a guy like The Turtleman. He would never miss a practice, because of a blister!

I guess none of the tightends has a blister. lol! I still cannot wrap my mind around the fact that somebody competing for the QB job at Ole Miss sits out of a practice over a blister. That's just sad commentary on the most important position on a football team, especially a team trying to find a leader. Freeze can't lead them out of the wilderness, by himself. I am sure he is counting on somebody to man up and be a leader on the field. I think you can count Wallace out!
