From the print edition this morning, the group Forward Rebels today begins what its website calls its "fall campaign."

The group has purchased full-page ads in the Journal and other newspapers. The ads were purchased prior to the football team's 30-7 loss at Vanderbilt Saturday.

Here's the text:

"A cloud hangs over us. We're told we'll never compete in the SEC. That we lack the talent. The fan support. And the funding.

We respectfully disagree.

We believe that Ole Mss can compete in the SEC. And win championships.

We believe that our coaches are not the problem. Or our athletes. Or our fans.

The Ole Miss Administration is the problem.

Our leadership has failed us. And our leadership must be held accountable. Our coaches and athletes deserve it. Ole Miss supporters deserve it.

We've waited long enough. We're tired of losing.

It's time for a change."

The last line of the ad encourages people to join the group at ForwardRebels.org.

Will bet my house Ole Mis will never ever, never ever, never, never have another winning season until Colonel Rebel is brought back. Yes, they'll win a few, but that's all. The Politically correct cut the heart out of everyone connected to Ole Mis, and it is showing. Political correctness, has never, and never will win in anything. When you change back to The Colonel, you'll be on the right track to restoring winning ways.

bornarebel, my young Christan Brother, you probably don't remember the days of Steve Sloan. Sloan, as Coach Nutt very good men but the Rebels just do not seem to want to play for them. ole Miss probably need another Ed Orgeron type who would put the fear of GOD in them.

I have always liked coach Nutt but in the last two years he has given us two of the most embarrassing losses, if not the most embarrassing losses in Ole Miss history. I have had enough. I don't know if he has lost this team or what but they sure did not put forth any effort Saturday. I believe that the only way Nutt can get us back on the right track is to beat Georgia Saturday. But I don't see it happening. If you can't even play competitive against Vandy, how are you going to beat a good SEC team?

I think ForwardRebels has it right. We deserve better than this. It's time for a change.

DawgBones, Brunetti is not being mentioned because Stoudt and Mackey are the top two right now. He's dropped to third, and they're just trying to get as many reps as they can for the top two, particularly Mackey, who missed the opener.

I think that coach nutt is a good football coach, its just that he and not many other coaches have not been able to win at Ole Miss exept Johnny Vaught and Billy Brewer, Well Brewer did good and bad - the bad sent him into retirement out on Billy Clark's plantation.

I would contribute to them if they would expand it out to include Slive at the SEC. I am tired of his favoritism of the big dollar schools. College athletics should still contain morals and a sense of fairness. The SEC under Slive does neither.

Parrish, I probably missed something but why is Brunetti's name not being mentioned in the QB mix anymore? He get hurt, suspended, leave school...what? Maybe you or another blogger can fill me in.

yeah, i agree that the administration is the problem, but disagree that its not a coaching problem too. i think PA said the ad was writen before the vandy game though.

I agree somewhat with the ad but our coaches are responsible too! Ole miss needs to get rid of Dan Jones, boone, nutt, lee, and nix. Do it now and cut your losses! Give gunter brewer the interim job rest of year and if he does better than first three games make him head coach next year! Saturday was an embarrassment to past and present players and fans!

PA, have you see the email that Pete Boone sent out to season ticket holders late last night? If not, post an email link and I'll send it to you.
