Morning folks. Talking Ole Miss football here. Leave a question or comment below. I'll be checking the thread throughout the morning while getting some other work done, much of it housework so I'm in good standing when I take off early tomorrow for a 3:45 kick in Oxford.

I get amped up for the start of college football, and Thursday night is usually a time that I can watch most or all of a game on TV. That being said, it was disappointing Wisconsin was up 20 in the first quarter on ESPN's wonderful matchup pitting the Badgers against UNLV.

I would have switched over to watch State, but Comcast couldn't figure a way to show MSU and Memphis is this market and others. That game was a romp too. In this day with the uncertainty regarding the landscape of college football it's nice to see consistency from Memphis.

Speaking of opening night, there was another thrilling comeback victory for Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks got a 4-yard run from Calvin Middleton with 6 seconds left to edge Tennessee (Tenn.-Martin) 24-23.

Jax QB Coty Blanchard was 9-for-17 passing for 133 yards and a 43-yard touchdown pass to transfer Washaun Ealey, who played at Georgia last year. Blanchard threw the Gamecocks' final touchdown pass against Ole Miss on fourth-and-15 from the 30, then followed that with the winning two-point conversion pass to Middleton.

Never heard of a color for fans to wear to home games. Does anyone have any tickets for sale?

B, I think Brunetti gets the edge because of his running ability. If Brunetti was a more consistent passer, I don't think there would be a rush to play two quarterbacks tomorrow.

Brunetti went into camp with a slight edge in the race but just didn't pull away and win the job. Nobody did.

PA, amen on the Wisconsin vs. UNLV matchup. I think ESPN for the most part does a good job with covering football but every now and again they pick some games that just don't make any sense at all. In reference to the QB "battle", I've heard all this stuff about Zack Stoudt having a great arm and playing well in camp, not that I'm complaining but what gives the edge to Brunetti over him? Is it his decision making or inconsistency?

Gus, I don't know. Didn't see the game and didn't hear any talk about balls. I was flipping channels last night between Wisconsin and Kentucky.

PA what was up with the footballs used last night in TSBU game? Have not seen that color football before. Don't like it.
